Covert Persuasion and the BBQ salesman

By admin | December 31, 2009

I once knew this guy that prided himself on being the best salesman on the planet. He worked at an appliance store, and liked to “switch” the customers as much as he could. If they came in to buy a toaster, he would sell them some solar panels. If they wanted an egg beater, they’d happily walk out with a 4000 BTU barbecues grill. Now I’m not exactly sure what kind of covert persuasion he was using, but it sure worked extremely well. He never had one person complain about his tactics. And of course, he made the most money out of anybody.
