When Installing Tile Always Use Cement Backer Board

By admin | January 31, 2010

It’s pretty easy to install ceramic, porcelain, travertine, or marble tile in a bathroom, as long as you use the right materials.  The most important step in the installation of tile, is a smooth, flat, and strong surface to adhere to the tile to.  Using cement backer board is perfect for this application.  It is made from Portland cement and fiberglass mesh.  It is easy to cut and is incredibly strong.  Since its made from cement the water from the shower won’t bother it a bit.  In my opinion this is the only way to install tile in an area that gets wet.
