My Son Doesn’t Want To Listen

I’ve been trying to teach my teenage son about acne treatments but he doesn’t want to listen. He slathers on over-the-counter products all day long. He still has the pimples, and on top of it, his skin is red and irritated from using so much of the product. I think he’s just being oppositional. I’ve tried to buy him other products (I thought maybe something using a retinoid would be more effective), but he says they are “too girly.” I’ve even offered to take him to the dermatologist but he says he doesn’t want a doctor staring at his face. I am ready to give up!
