No one actually needs personalised number plates but there are instances when they can very useful. If you are the boss of a businees and want to renew your car but do not want your employees to see if the car is new or second hand you could buy an ageless registration and have the retention certificate sent straight to the dealer. When he either taxes or registers the car he can assign the ageless registration number before you pick the car up. When your staff sees the car they will know you have a different car but will be unable to see whethr it is new or used.
