Oud And Me

Conformity was a taboo when I was in college. People then were at the peak of their teenage years and into the transition of early adulthood. It was very important that you stand out from the rest in any way possible. Our group was desperate enough to even try something new like using the oud. It is not that the oud is anything ood. I do think it is a nice instrument. By that time, we were using the oud as an instrument of rebellion. I think some people liked it too. I am glad those days are over but I still am keeping my instrument, still playing it because I have learned to love it so much to just throw it away.
